Understanding the structure of parts
Get a quick understanding of the structure of parts within Appeggio.
Making edits to particular parts requires those parts to be selected. To ensure you are selecting the right part, having an understanding of the structure of parts is helpful.
As an example, let’s take a look at the structure of a product card that has been added. It’s a card that contains some parts, including some text fields, an image, and a button:
Each part within this card has its own toolbar when selected, and each part has a containing part we call its ‘parent’. Selecting some text within the card will help illustrate this. When the text is selected, you’ll see that it is highlighted with an orange line around it, and the text halo toolbar has been activated, as shown below:
When the text has been selected, resulting in the text halo toolbar being activated, only the text part can be edited or formatted.
By clicking on the square icon on the left of the text toolbar, you will be taken to the parent part, which is the card:
Clicking on the text halo toolbar to take us to the parent part, results in the card being selected and the card toolbar being activated. This is shown in the image below. The card part can now be edited or formatted.
In this case, the card is inside of a column. By clicking on the card toolbar to select the parent, I’ve been taken to the column toolbar. You can now format and edit the column.
