Icons
This section takes you through adding and editing icons within Appeggio. The icon part provides a large set of glyphs to provide context to various aspects of your app.
Adding an Icon
To add an icon, select the part where you’d like to add your icon and press ‘+’ on the halo toolbar. Select ‘icon’, and then choose the size icon you would like to add:
Changing the icon
To change the default icon, select the icon to activate the icon halo toolbar. Then click on the ‘icon’ image within the toolbar to reveal all of the icons available for you to choose from, as shown below:
Just select your icon of choice and it will replace the default icon.
There are over 5,000 icons available for you to choose from. The filter function can help you locate your preferred icon. For example, if you know you want an icon containing an arrow, key in ‘arrow’, and the result will return icons containing an arrow:
Formatting the icon
You can format your icon for color and size and can change the icon itself using the icon halo toolbar.
For the full range of formatting functions, click the dropdown and you’ll see a menu of ways to format your icon.
Whilst you can change the icon via the icon halo toolbar, you can also change it within the icon dropdown menu (shown above). Simply go to ‘icon’, then click on ‘shape’, and this will open the full suite of icons for you to choose.
Sizing the icon
There are various sizing options available within the dropdown menu of the icon toolbar. These sizes range from extra small through to extra large.
Margins and padding
A ‘margin’ adds space outside of the icon. This can be applied to all, horizontal, vertical, top, right, bottom and left. There is more information on margins here.
‘Padding’ adds space around a part’s content inside of any defined borders. This can be applied to all, horizontal, vertical, top, right, bottom and left. There is more information on padding here.
Changing the color of the icon
The color of the icon can be changed either using the icon halo toolbar, or via the dropdown menu from the icon halo toolbar. You can select from theme colors or mix your own color. There is more information on colors here.
